Contactile - Reflector Tracker
My first project at Contactile involved characterising tactile ‘fingertip’ sensors by measuring the position of a reflective dot on the sensor. The purpose of this project was to build a system that could quanitfy the physical differences between fingertip sensors of different materials.
The Python OpenCV library was run on a Raspberry Pi (with a connected camera), and various image processing techniques were used to measure the position and size of the reflective dot. Autodesk Fusion and a Bambu 3D printer were used for the mechanical housing design and manufacture.
